SAF Starinox 904L description: STARINOX RS 904L is a rutile coated electrode for welding identical or similar alloys, with high corrosion-resistance in reducing media, such as sulphuric and phosphoric acids. Typical applications in the off-shore oil and gas, chemical, pulp and paper industries and seawater desalination plant. These electrodes are also used to join Type 317L material where improved corrosion resistance in specific media is needed. It can be used for joining Type 904L base metal to other grades of
stainless. The weld metal microstructure is austenitic without delta-ferrite. High PREN, increased resistance to pitting and
crevice corrosion in water and solutions containing chlorine.
