It is generally used for the welding of high strength steels with tensile strength > 600 Mpa. The main applications include the welding of root runs and standing fillets in higher strength steels. The M stands for military standards. The TENAX 98M is used for main and especially military applications with a higher yield strength up to 550 Mpa and down to -60C.
