Oerlikon Basinox 430 description: BASINOX 430 is a basic-coated MMA electrode for welding ferritic and martensitic chromium steels with 15-17%Cr, AISI 430. These steel are air hardening, therefore, depending on the steel type and material thickness, pre-heating between 150C -300C and stress relieving treatments are required. BASINOX 430 can be used for joining heat-resistant steels containing <18% Cr. Welding with a low heat input is recommended. Easy slag release and well-suited for positional welding.
