Oerlikon Suprastell 6 description: SUPRASTELL 6 is a cobalt base coated MMA electrode, type E CoCr-A. Typical applications includes hardfacing od valves, valve seats and other sealing faces, hot pressing tools, pump parts, extrusion screws. SUPRASTELL 6 has a very good resistance to metal-metal wear, cavitation and corrosion as well as to heat <900C. Excellent gliding characteristics, can be polished, non-magnetic. Machinable with tungsten carbide tools or by grinding. Large components or special steels require preheat in the range 300-600C and this temperature should be retained during welding, followed by slow cooling, preferably in an oven, to reduce the risk of cracking. Flat welding position only. Shall be used in DC+ or AC current.
